Oregon Research Behavioral Intervention Strategies, Inc. (OR-BIS) an Oregon corporation doing business as Influents Innovations (“Influents”, "us", "we", or "our") operates the website (https://PeerLearning.net/) and the PeerLearning.net instructional (https://app.peerlearning.net/) and circle (https://circles.peerlearning.net/) applications (collectively called the "Website").


This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Website and the choices you have associated with that data. By using the Website, you represent that you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

SECTION 1:  INFORMATION COLLECTION

A.        Information Collection

Influents is the sole owner of the information collected on the Website and any other related domains or websites. We collect information from our users at several different points on our Website.


B.        Registration            

Two types of participants may engage with our Website. These include teachers and students.


Teachers may choose to register and log into the Website using their Google credentials, which enables us to obtain the user’s name, avatar, and email address from Google. If a teacher elects to create an account manually, we will collect the teacher’s name and email address and enable the teacher to optionally add an avatar.


Students may also choose to register and log into the Website using their Google credentials, in which case we obtain their name and email address from Google. A student can also create an account manually, which involves the collection of the student’s name and email address.


We use this information to identify users within the Website for the benefit of other participants.


C.       Audio

The Website enables teachers to capture audio recordings of student interactions during lesson delivery. The captured audio is transferred securely to our servers and is reviewable only by the teacher. These audio recordings can be used by the teacher to audit the quality of student interactions or review the circumstances surrounding any negative interactions among students.

SECTION 2:  INFORMATION USE

A.        Profile

We store information that we collect through cookies, and log files to create an internal profile of our users. These profiles are comprised of stored information that we keep on individual users which details user history and viewing preferences. Consequently, such information is tied to the users’ personally identifiable information. Your profile is only shared in aggregate, de-identified form as part of our analysis of usage.

B.        Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user’s hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following internet browser help directions. By setting a cookie on our Website, users would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our Website. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our Website, but may be unable to use certain functions. Persistent cookies enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Website.

C.        Log Files

We use log files, including internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the Website, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

SECTION 3: COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE WEBSITE

A.        Service Announcements

On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service-related announcement or legal disclosures. For instance, if our Website is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. Please note that these communications are not promotional in nature

SECTION 4:  INFORMATION SHARING

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy.

A.        Required Disclosures

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on Influents Innovations when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request, or to any other third party with your prior consent to do so.


B.        Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)

We may share aggregated usage information with other educators or administrators. This is not linked to any personally identifiable information.


C.        Employees

Influents Innovations employees access nonpublic information in relation to their job functions and the services they provide to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with the federal standards to guard your nonpublic information.

           

SECTION 5:  SECURITY

We make diligent efforts to protect your information. When users submit sensitive information via the Website, their information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information, such information is encrypted and is protected with SSL.


While we use SSL to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

SECTION 6: USER OPT-OUT

If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire access to our Website, you may correct, update, amend, delete/remove, or deactivate it by emailing us at peerlearning@influentsin.com.

SECTION 7: NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES

If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy policy, the Website, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If we make any material changes we will notify you by email or by means of a notice on this Website prior to the change becoming effective.
